I am introducing the 2015 Spring Mini Sessions with a little different purpose this time around. I am in that space right now that most people find themselves in at some point, when a friend is struggling with the agony of loss and “I want to do something, I just don’t know what to do.” After much reflection, my response to anyone that is witnessing friends going through a painful experience is, just do something. It is uncomfortable maybe but it brings peace and healing, however minor you feel your gesture may be. So friends, I am doing the only “something” that I know to do, pick up my camera and get to work. I am hosting a Mini Session Event to raise money for The Cerebral Palsy Foundation of Oklahoma. I have a rather hefty goal of $5,000 to raise for this charity so I will need all the help I can get. Everyone is encouraged to come for pictures, or if you’d rather just make a donation that will be appreciated more than you know!
I have chosen The Cerebral Palsy Foundation of Oklahoma to receive the donation in memoriam of Ryder Edward Catlege. This amazing boy spent his 4 little years here bringing immeasurable joy to so many people. I wrote a little bit about Ryder here. People who knew him loved him, people that saw his smile couldn’t help but smile themselves, anyone that followed his journey was immediately inspired. I know that I am inspired by him. His loss is felt by his parents every day, every minute, in every way. You see from the minute that tiny miracle was born they were his advocates, his nurses, his comforters, his teachers. That innate desire to care for their son will always be there, whether he is here or in heaven.
There will be 2 Mini Session Set-ups, one is a Spring “Farmers Market” theme and the other is an OKC Thunder theme. The Spring setup is perfect for smaller children and the Thunder setup will work for families. You can choose one or both sets for your session! I normally hold the mini sessions at my newborn studio but these are both much larger and more extravagant than I’ve done before so there will be no room for one, let alone 2 different sets here. I have teamed up with The Norman Arts Council to host this event at their Mainsite Contemporary Art Gallery location at 122 E Main St, Norman, OK 73069. This will give us a great space at an awesome location!
I would be honored to have you be a part of this amazing fundraising event. Please contact me to schedule your session asap!
